Child Sponsor Gaza

Become a sponsor and help support a child in Gaza today with these sponsorship charities, projects and programs. Whatever your views on Israel or Hamas are, the reality on the ground is that entire families and neighbourhoods have been destroyed in the conflict. A man-made famine is spreading in Gaza, with starvation widespread, and children and families are already dying from hunger. Even before the war, UNICEF screened over 3,000 under-five children for malnutrition and treated 82 of them for severe acute malnutrition while 237 were treated for moderate acute malnutrition. Since then, the Gaza Strip has become little more than a hellhole. As the world watches on, children in Gaza are being killed on a daily basis by Israeli forces. Many children live in daily fear of attack and play in bombed-out streets, with often no secure water and no real hope for the future.

One eight-year-old boy from Gaza put the child situation there succinctly, "Let the world come and see our situation. Our children who are thrown in the school classrooms, sitting on the floor, they have no shelter, no food, no water, no electricity. Is this life? This is siege, this is the biggest siege, the greatest siege by Israel. I am telling the world to watch us and see how we are living. "We never play, we never laugh or learn, and we never watch kids programs. I turn on the TV and all I see is martyrs' funerals, shooting and death, war and tanks and incursion." Cont/...

"I don't find any children programs to enjoy and learn from. I don't find any cartoons I can watch and have fun, it's all funerals, lifting martyrs and shooting. Here we don't have any food, any water, anything. We are sitting here like beggars. Let the world see other nations, how they are enjoying their lives and laughing. We have suffered a blockade for years now."

The conflict in the Gaza Strip has taken a catastrophic toll on children. More than 14,000 children have reportedly been killed, and thousands more have been injured. There are no safe spaces for them. All of Gaza’s children have been exposed to the traumatic experiences of war, the consequences of which will last a lifetime. Around 1.7 million people in Gaza are estimated to have been internally displaced, with half of them being children. These displaced children face inadequate access to water, food, fuel, and medicine. Their homes have been destroyed, and their families torn apart. Many have been displaced multiple times, losing homes, parents, and loved ones.

Shockingly, nearly all children in Gaza are at imminent risk of famine. The absence of education leaves 625,000 children out of school, and over 1 million children urgently need mental health support. Escalating hostilities have cut them off from safe water, food, and medicine. Families desperately searching for shelter are crammed into tiny, overcrowded areas without adequate resources. Wet winter weather floods tents and other shelters, creating rivers of waste. These children not only face immediate dangers but also suffer from serious long-term mental health impacts. You can help when you sponsor a child in Gaza.
