Suspicion of outside interference means that the volunteer sector isn't well developed in the Congo even though it faces many challenges as a country not least addressing the needs of the thousands of orphaned or abandoned children who flock to the capital to exist on the streets where they live side by side with others who have made their way across the Congo River from neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo to escape the ongoing instability there.
Anyone looking to volunteer in the Congo will need to speak French and that is very much a prerequisite as its the national language and if you don't speak it, you can't
communicate! Volunteer work in the Congo mainly focuses on delivery of health care, rolling put HIV/AIDS
awareness and prevention programs as well as looking after lost, orphaned or abandoned
children. If you run or
know of a volunteer work project in Congo Brazzaville let us know
by contacting us here. We look forward
to hearing from you!
